Why work with Firestorm

Firestorm is a S.A.F.E. Certified employer in the Province of British Columbia supporting the BC Wildfire Service since 2004. Firestorm is an equal opportunity employer that is continually seeking to add to our team of positive-minded and professional individuals. We are always looking to enhance our capabilities with quality individuals with proven experience or a simple willingness to learn and grow.

Being a Wildland Firefighter requires good physical condition, communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a teamwork mentality. In-house training is offered to returning and new crew members throughout the year so that we can continue to provide a highly skilled and professional level of support to the BC Wildfire Service and the community.

Our services are full time, seasonal and on-call. Our busy months are typically May to September – Province-wide. You can expect to work 12-hour shifts during the season with our work weeks lasting a maximum of 16 days with three days of rest. Accommodations could be tenting in a BC Wildfire Service camp or staying in a hotel. All call-outs are different, you must always be prepared and ready to go on short notice.
